I noticed that Panny released all new drivers today in there W7 section. That was a suprise for sure. I am having a problem with my MK3 working/looking right on my external monitor. With my MK2 I simply set it in the dock and it looks perfect on my ext mon. My MK3 looks like crap and I can't find what the difference in settings is. Maybe the new video driver will help!

toyo, can you run dual monitors with the cf-29? can you drag from the laptop display to an external monitor? I have multiple monitors on my desktop but have not hooked one to this toughbook yet to see what happens, sounds like you have

@willpelton: Yep, u can use multi-monitoring on a CF-29. Just start ur Toughbook, go into the BIOS by hiting F2-key. In the Main-menu u can set the Dispaly-value on simltaneous. Now save ur settings with F10.
In Windows now u can expand ur screen to dual-monitoring or u can use it as an clone.

    Hotkey

Gotta love the freakin Hotkey! That program is as picky as they come. After I posted this thread this morning I tried to download some drivers and there site was down. I guess it's back up now?

However, if you look at the driver versions they are the same that they have on the W7 page. I don't get it. They did redo there way of showing you the drivers though.

There are crazies on this forum that put Win7 on a CF-28 :twitchy: So I'm sure CF-29 will run Win7... GOOD LUCK with the freakin' drivers!

I would like to go w7 on my cf-29 but I wont do it untill everything works. But I would still have to dual boot because some of the software I run needs xp and I rely on it so I cant just try it out.

    Hey, I resemble that remark!!!!!!

I have not gotten the touchscreen to work either, the XP touchscreen drivers will freeze or bluescreen the a CF-28, but everything else is fine.

Hey Shack...In W7 there is a mode called compatibilty mode. You can set whatever software, program you want to run in XP mode. Or you can install the Virtual XP on it. It is exactly like having the full XP OS that you already have, except you access it thru W7. I have it and it works great!

OK, I should probably stay quiet here because I know nothing about most of this butt,,,,,,,,,, I bought windows 7 ULTIMATE because it will run all the XP programs. now you guys know more than I do about that. I put win 7 on my cf-29 mk5 (CF-29NDLGFBM) and everything works. I was able to download all the XP drivers from panasonics site. I put a new WD hard drive in before I loaded win 7 so I started clean. Oh and so far Win 7 is working perfect so far

not sure what you mean TOYO, I installed the drivers for XP and win 7 recognized everything. it took me awhile to find where on my computer it put them because I am a newbie but they were there from the first time I looked for them on the panny site. now if you are asking me if I installed in the XP Mode then you lost me because I don't know what that is.

my motivation for buying the ULTIMATE version of Windows 7 was the ability to run anything based on the XP architecture, I use a lot of government based sites that were built around XP. I did not want to be limited. I never though that it may be advantageous to have the XP whatever we call it built in to the ULT. version of Win7 if for no other reason than the ability to load drivers on this older toughbook. what do you guys think?

Will, being tied into the Govt sector as well, I always have at least 2 or 3 of there sites open all the time. Not sure which sites you have to go on, but for me I have not had a problem. Mine require a pretty good security level to get in and I have never ran into a problem.
