Generally speaking, is the number of charge cycles on a Toughbook battery any indication of battery health?
Sure there are other factors of battery usage to affect it's health, but does fewer chargings mean a better battery?

Charge cycles mean little to nothing.

A new battery left to sit and never used could be junk.
A battery left in a laptop that is always plugged in will be junk with 0 charge cycles.

I have a CF-19 battery with only 12 charge cycles and it only gives me 2 hours battery life and another one with 18 and it gives me well over 3 hours battery life.

    Thanks for the replies.
I was curious because I have a battery from a CF-19K (with less than 10,000 hours) that has 784 charges.
It lasted 1 hr 40 mins when tested with Imtec Battery Mark.

The weaker it gets, the more it gets charged I suppose.

    yeah ...
batteries , like people , are best taken on a case-by-case basis .
i have had 4 year old packs with many cycles on them and they were still good ... a *few* cycles later 1/4 of those batteries refused to take or hold a charge .
