This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    And so Comcast's DNS servers are down AGAIN... Surprised? I'm not...

    So I got to thinking: why is my house internet and ALL my friends internet down (all have comcast), but my office line is NOT down... Well Good thing I've used Google's DNS servers for the last year because this has happened in the past.

    Anyways, just change your DNS servers to 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4 and you'll have intertubes again :)

    I've haven't had to go to the cellar to reboot my router once since we switched to Verizon Fios 18 months ago. It was a weekly (at least) event with Comcast. The worst part was the calls from Mrs. Dogfish wondering why her email didn't work :eek:
