I have EVERYTHING up and running correctly on my CF-C1BTFBZ1M (MK2/touch) EXCEPT THE DAMN TABLET BUTTONS!!! I'm ready to rip out all of my hair here!

I uninstalled all the drivers from device manager (misc and tablet PC button driver) and uninstalled the following from add/remove programs: Software keyboard, tablet buttons manager and display rotation utility. Then I re-installed it all...

What the FRAK am I doing wrong here???? The brightness button works and the lock button works but the other three (keyboard, screen flip and user) DO NOT WORK! Additionally I can manually navigate to: C:\Program Files\Panasonic\MEITBMAN and see that the Panasonic Tablet Button manager program is there, but when I try to open it it doesn't open. I can see it running in the background under processes in task manager, but it won't open like it should like it did on the C1 MK1 that I had. I tried in compatability mode for XP SP3 and tried running as administrator and still nothing!

System is: Win 7 Pro 32 bit.

HELP!

Mmmhmmm... I'd suggest percussive maintenance; but OP has repeatedly demonstrated that he does NOT have a complete grasp of its finer points. Instead of using incremental intimidation, he invariably goes straight for the kill... :p

Need some advise, Just bought a CF-29 from an outfit called Black Hawk Toughbooks they are in CA, which is where it was mailed from. Its a 1.6 MK4 touch screen, Wireless the works, but inside the machine is a Verizon type of equipment card, wires etc. that is just above the battery. Does anyone know what it is? I took the bottom off the laptop and there is a ESN number with lots of digits. on the card, the card slides into a metal bracket and there is a copper ribbon that goes to a small white plug in on the right side of the machine. Does this have anything to do with the antenna? The seller never mentioned that this was in the machine. Should I remove it? Can it be useful? New to this so just curious. I got the machine for $450 and it came real clean, looked new but came with only a 80 giga bite hard drive so Its going to need a new hard drive. Can anyone give me an update to what the thing is above the battery that says Verison, I emailed them, but they have not messaged me back. Also it has 1 a 1 gig stick in it, will it take a 2 gig stick ? Thanks Mark

I vote for M$ registry error that will require an install from the recovery disk ;P That or a hard drive that has bad sectors that are multiplying :p Though you might try and see if you can run a fix from a win7 install disk... Sorry I'm not more helpful, but it's the thought that counts, right? ;)

Nothing personal about any newcomers mistake, But the older I get the more I ask that very question. Everyday I ask it. The more I work in a retail environment, the more I wonder HOW people manage to not regularly hurt themselves. People should have to take a test before being allowed to buy a screwdriver.
I am old enough to remember times before computers and cell phones. Cashiers could actually ADD and subtract. People paid some attention when they drove a one ton weapon. Parents actually interacted with children, not just give them a Gameboy and say go away.
The more "advanced" we get as a society, the more we train our children to be idiots. No one has to, or for the most part can, think for themselves. Doing for yourself is totally out of the question. Spelling correctly is a lost art. Many people now can't even use spell-check.

It's HOT, and my heart doesn't like HOT, my body is very fatigued. The cardiologist says it's NORMAL for heart patients. UGH.
I am CRANKY. I want to feel as healthy as I thought I was at 30 years old, with the wisdom I think I have at 51.

So is it wrong I'm looking for a CF-19 for my 20 month old? ;P She's fascinated by my Android phone and my CF-08. I'm hoping that with a rubber keyboard she won't be able to hurt anything too badly... And the touch screen will let her draw/color and do mazes, etc. All good developmental stuff :)

20 month old? My 6 month old sits with me, while watching Bumba at my CF-19. It's ideal for that, drewled hands reaching for the screen... :D
I wouldn't even think of doing this with my Macbook Air!!!
And 30 years ago, people would keep a baby quiet with a little genever... we now think that isn't a good idea anylonger. I'm sure in the future they will think the same about my kid watching Bumba clips...

But I have to agree with Shawn. The older I get, the more moronic people around me seem to get. They take on huge debts for a car, a boat or even things like a couch or holidays, argue with cops that they didn't meant to violate the law or they attack the paramedics because they think it took to long for them to arrive on scene (or they attack them just because they are drunk as a skunk).
I know a lot of things are going well or even better, but it just doesn't look always that way.

Oh, for those who don't know Bumba:

On topic: Rob, is the C1 still giving headaches, or did I miss a post. I am getting quite old.. :D

Alec, they get faster as they get older, trust me! At six months old I could still keep up with her so the CF-52 was fine. Now she'll get by me far too often! She has a couple made for kids 'computers' but they don't do enough to keep her attention very long. How are the speakers on the CF-19? I know the one in my CF-08 sucks as far as movies go.

The latest is that my C1's SD reader puked... every time I plug something in to it it locks the whole damn computer up solid! :(

I'm willing to deal with it though because I don't use it all that much.

Everything else is good other than that!

Maybe I'll troubleshoot it today :)

    Upon further investigations,

It was the stupid crappy PCMCIA USB 2.0 card that I had in the system causing the problem with the SD reader!

    W00T! Problem fixed! :)

haha, it can be so easy sometimes! 'but good to hear the c1 is up and running. you seem to have had quite a few, TB's, but what is your favorite? CF31 because it can handle everything and it has a full sized keyboard, or a CF19 because it is small and rugged, or prefer a C1 because it is much nicer?

I have the C1 now because I sit at a desk all day and sell Toughbooks. The 31 was just to heavy. After carrying it around though all the airports whilst on my honeymoon I realized that.

The 19's keyboard and screen are WAY to small.

The C1 is a nice compromise: It's light, powerful and still WAY more rugged than a normal laptop + I have a dock for it + another screen, mouse, network and whatnot so I can use it as a desktop for work. I don't like the fact that it doesn't have an HDMI port, but it hasn't been an issue yet.

That's why there is a CF-19... small, much lighter and stull fully rugged...

CF-19's aren't that small. Most netbooks have the same size?! Nooooh, that's just your opinion :D Honestly, when typing at a full sized keyboard it always takes some time for me to get used to the HUGE distances between the keys!

The C1 is nice indeed, have hold one for a few moments, typed on it a bit and liked it, but I wanted RUGGED. :)
