    And so if I was a frequent international traveller I would get rid of my CF-31 and get a MK5 CF-19 in half a heartbeat!

    After being on 5 different airplanes and having spend 22+ hours in the air I would say that the CF-31 is simply too big! Plain and simple! Some reasons are highlighted below:

    1) It's so big it doesn't even fit on the little table tray thing on any of the planes!
    2) It's so heavy that BOTH my shoulders were killing me because I had to carry it around for HOURS at the airports and what not.
    3) The strap always got in the way whilst using it on the plane and at one point I almost lost it because I unhooked it.

    I would buy a MK5/2.5GHz i5 CF-19 with an emmisive keyboard if I frequently traveled for work or whatever! I would have to simply FORCE myself to learn how to type on that dinky keyboard! It would suck! it would take weeks to get used to it, but I'd do it!

    Rob - checking in with his CF-31 back to his normal, easy life style :)

    If the 19 has the same Strange Dinky KB as the 18 the you can have it!
    The cursor up/down/sideways keys are just wrong and I always have to stop and look at them.

    I can use the KB on the T5 though with no problem,it is the same size but laid out correctly.

    What were they thinking?

    I have been traveling with an 11" Macbook Air and that is sweeeeeeet!

    For years I traveled internationally to the tune of over 100K miles per year. I have carried CF-Wx's (W2, W5, W7) and never had a problem - despite dropping them onto the pavement or floor lots of times. I know most of you swear by the truly rugged models. I'd like to hear your views on why something more rugged than a W8, say, is needed for business travel.

    Thanks,
    Dave

    Because we're all big, clumsy oafs who "accidentally" drop our ToughBooks on lesser laptops all the time... 5 or 6 times... just to see what happens. >~~~~(;{

    OR...., you could spend some time in the Gym throwing some Iron around and quit being such a girly man over 9.5 Lbs Vs. 4.1 LBs, just saying and just kidding... :p

    But really, consider hitting the Gym.
