    Hello all :)

I have a little question about this... is that whistle normal ? My thoughbook is a CF-19 MK1.

When the CPU is working (using cpu burner for exemple) the noise disappear and "vice versa". It's not coming from the fan nor the HDD...

    Thanks !

...propably the core of an coil from the cpu-voltage regulation circuit...
If the cpu has nothing to do, the voltage of the CPU (Intel speed step technologie) goes down and "vice versa" :)
Maybe ur laptop was falling or pushed hard and the core comes a little bit loose of the pcb.

    And the sound/volume is muted/off?

    Do you think it's a serious problem ? : /

EDIT : the sound also disappear when the laptop is plugged...

My CF-19 also does some low whistling and whining. As far as I know it is fairly common on Core 2 Duo cpus - just google "cpu whine", you will find plenty of reading material. And on a fanless computer it is obviously even more noticeable. I can also hear some sound from the display, it actually seems to get lower the brighter I turn it.

Both problems are resulting from bad soldered or bad manufactured coils in the inverter circuits, which will result in lower power and more heat and less lifespan of the part. If u are handy enough, u can try to repair. It's not a really big thing :)

I used RMClock to remove (i think) that stupid noise...

I uncheck the two boxes [enable popup mode] & [enable popdown mode] of the CPU advanced settings of RMClock.

    Thanks for your help ;)
