On my -29 I have a problem with the touchscreen, the cursor will sometimes start vibrating or jumping around or creating a box. This is not a gps issue. A tap to the side of the screen housing will make the cursor jump and usually start working fine. Things are fine until the computer is physical disturbed,I notice it particularly when the computer is in a moving truck and a rough road.
I believe the problem is because I have opened the screen and separated the lcd from the touchscreen, I did not notice an adhesive seal. it appears to only be a pressure fit holding the lcd to the touchscreeen ? I have all the little spacers etc in their correct position.
any advice on solving this one?
Thanks,
Tim

Tim,
This usually ends up being dirt or crud between the screen bezel and the touchscreen. Ohlip has the best solution, it involves flattening a toothpick and cleaning that area the best you can. I will have a lot of VDW07 info shortly, Panasonic tech support is really nice! I've just got to figure out how to get the Intel Pro Wireless utility back into the CF-29, its misbehaving.

I don't have any screen crud, one thing about separating the lcd from the touchscreen is you can see the backside of the bezel and see anything between the touchscreen and the bezel. I though maybe I had a piece of dust or something between the lcd and trouchscreen but no.
My theory was that a bump was enough of a jolt to get the lcd to move in relation to the touchscreen? Some posters have mentioned they are sealed as in adhesive sealant, I don't see any residue indicating a sealant. It appears to me there is just a foam gasket that is held together by the pressure of clamping the magnesium housings together?
Good news on the 07 front. I haven't put the HDD in you so kindly got for me, I realized I really need the port replicator to do it best. I ordered one from Horizon. Currently Horizon has a -07 brick for sale for about $70.

Moxie,
My thought is the same as Cap's... Something is either in between the bezel and the touchscreen or the touchscreen and the LCD... It would take more than dust... It may be that something has embedded itself into the foam and only pokes in one spot. Remember... All it takes is the slightest touch on the touchscreen for it to think that you are clicking on it there. Then you either get jumping immediately at that point or when you start to use your finger or stylus. -
Moxie..as both guys said, clean the area between the front bezel and the touchscreen glass not inside the LCD panel. You may use paint brush if you are not comportable of using a hard materials but be careful not sctratch the screen protector. As TB(Rick) said on his previous experienced that it may workin(particles like crud, dust etc.) during the time you pull out the LCD.
