    Hello to all:

Well i have searched high and low trying to figure out how to fix this and i havent had any luck on my own so i decided to ask you guys because im sure that most of you are smarter than me!!

Here is what im working with:

Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.101209-1647)
    Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: Matsua Electric Industrial Co.,Ltd.
    System Model: CF-29HTM50BM
    BIOS: Ver 1.00PARTTBLh
    Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.40GHz
    Memory: 502MB RAM

So i have had this laptop for a while and im not sure when but my ts just started not working all of the sudden. When i try touching the screen the mouse pointer just shoots to the far right part of the screen. I have up and down movement with the cursor from the ts but no horizontal movement. I don't know a whole lot about computers just enough to get me in trouble. My friend wiped it clean and we started fresh and we reinstalled everything including the ts drivers that we found on the internet and still nothing. Out of all the research i have done on this website i really dont feel like my screen is faulty because I was reading this thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/panasonic/144083-touch-screen-not-working-any-ideas.html and the same thing is happening with mine.

I can go to mouse properties and run the touchscreen calibration and it pulls up and i got thru the motions of touching the screen in 9 different points but when i hit enter to exit the calibration test it just gives me "error Dtm" "Parameter Error, please input again." and the test touch, I'm not getting any feed/writing on the screen..........Now on this guys computer someone posted up some drivers for it and it fixed his so i was hoping maybe that is whats wrong with mine. What do you guys think?? And thanks alot in advance!!!!!

You have the old style touchscreen (white connector going to a pcb behind the lcd) and it is failing, VERY common for this model. Some fixes have worked but it is just a matter of time before it does it again. It is a heat issue regarding the glue they use on the connector, starts to get loose when hot, the new style (gold connector) doesnt have this issue

so basically i need to buy another touchscreen... What would be a fix to get me by until i can purchase a new ts? Take it apart and make sure the connector is making good contact?

Also where is a good place to buy another ts??

Heartland sells new TS panels, Expensive though, I am not sure on the "fixes", just try what you find on here, some have had luck unplugging/plugging in, some have had luck taking some thin plastic and cleaning around the bezel, just depends.

I had the same problem and on the advise of previous post, I used a thin plastic tooth pick and cleaned around the screen edges. Everything works fine now.

check with Ohlip, he has a cure and it's a secret. Have been told by many he knows what he's doing. Can buy one on fleabay, i.e. a parts laptop with ts that's working and swap out the whole screen assembly, many times its cheaper to do it this way, but harder to find deals on fleabay for the cf-29. I think sadlmkr might be able to fix this as well. Look on the for sale listings on this forum and may find one more reasonably priced too.....Driller

Ohlip has a fix, I just do a replacement if I can get the panels. They may not be available right now. I'm out at the present time. $225 shipped. But no panels :(

That's what I use to replace TS panels.
Different person but the same panel. Some use a dental pick. I have a leather tool that performs the function. To separate the old panel from the adhesive. Also I have a secret razor blade method. :D

100% on 29's and a CF-18 so far. The ribbon cable is the key. Get some forceps. (7 total I've done?)
    Sadlmkr...good sentence structure this isn't.
