Hi All, as some may know Ive just got myself a CF-19 Mk1 to replace my CF-18. A new WD 500Gb hard drive is on its way to me to replace the 80Gb that the maching is fitted with, Im just downloading drivers and having a play ready for a fresh install of XP when the new hard drive arrives. I have installed the drivers for the touchscreen & front buttons, they are working ok, im having a problem, when the maching boots to windows the 1st message I get on screen is:

    DISPLAY ROTATION
    unsupported touchpad driver

next problem, in the small icons next to the clock ive got the wireless icon with a red cross through it

then Ive got in device manager list:

    "unknow device" details ACPI\MAT0019\2&DABA3FF&0
    "USB device" details USB\VID_0C24&PID_000E\5&9A17EE7&0&2

then in sound, vid & game ive got a exclamation mark on:

    "IDT high def audio CODEC"

So if someone could help me out here I would really appreciate it, I have been sitting here for the last 2 hours trying to sort this.
The only pleasing thing is that I know the battery is good as its been on battery for the last 2 hours and 15 mins and the battery indicator is tell me ive still got another 2 hours and 8 mins left :)

    Thanks All

What I have done in the past is to get all of the drivers in util and util2, thats where the drivers go. Then I go to the control panel, system, device manager, and find the hardware that is having issues. They should be marked. I right click on them and choose to update the driver. I select the util menu as the area that holds the driver and let it be found automatically. If it does not find it in utl, I go to util2 and let it check that folder. It usually finds the driver and installs it. Then, it usually finds other stuff associated and automatically installs it also. Hope this helps.

That's how it's done...sounds to me like all you have done is unzipped the driver package and all that is left to do is install them. Something you should look into is the restore disk for your 19...30 minutes and you are done and surfing the net :D

For the disk they do pop up on the bay from time to time, or maybe another member here can help you.

Those black out models are out there but you don't see them very often.

Still a few blanks to fill in, I don't have all of the special configuration numbers.

The slot is for a sim card for WWAN. The WWAN card installs under the plate w/4 screws on the bottom by the sim slot. "Wireless ready" means it is ready for whatever WWAN card you may install. Antenna and everything else needed is already there.

    No card from the factory

What card is installed right now? Looks like someone has "upgraded" it at one point in time as "wireless ready" does mean it came from the factory ready for a card, but didn't have one installed.

Even if it is a card you don't intend to use for WWAN many of them have GPS installed.

No sorry, my mistake it dont look like that, there is no card in there, i though there was, the antenna connection closest to the black dip switches is the one with the black wire going to it ?

Those were just close pictures "borrowed" from Google so those two wires may not be in the 100% out of the factory place. I think it was discussed before that there were some European models than only had only one antenna wire for one type of overseas model.

But it needs that wireless card for it to work yes, the slot on the back does have a sim card holder\reader in there as ive just taken the cover off and a sims car will click in place

Yes, you will need a card to use WWAN, inside you toughbook should be a M-PCI-E wi-fi card.
