Well unknown to me at least!
If you don't think that it's that cool, have known about it for years, or even helped Bill write it... my humble apologies.![]()
Anyway, here is a video showing you a "hidden" program in Windows 7. It’s a cool little tool if you need to document a process. I think it would make a great tool for doing tutorials.

I can see LOTS of uses for that at work. I usually use a program called SnagIt to generate screen shots for documentation. It's always nice to simplify the software catalog. The name problem steps recorder kind of implies its uses in supporting users too, which I can see tons more uses for that. When I get back to work next month we will likely be starting the process of switching to 7 as we desperately avoided Vista. I will look so cool showing my coworkers this little trick.
Thanks!

Well... I guess I'll be loading W7 on my CF-30... This is just too cool. I need to start learning it.

sgttough I usually turn off search in xp. have been for years, but for win 7 it is actually fricking useful. I have left it on with no performance hit that I can see. They really fixed it for this version of windows. Try leaving it on a couple of days. nothing like hitting the windows key typing usually the first 3 letters and running my programs. mp3, etc.

Pssttt... Azrial.

And now... for bed. -
Thanks for the reminder! i ran across this thing embedded in a program awhile back and forgot all about it.
This would be good for us as too where someone's computer is acting up they can record what the computer is doing, or not doing. Would that work?? -

I thought I remembered seeing this some long time ago, so I fired up the RAID Volume on my Beast.
Sure Enough, it's there in XP 64-Bit Edition. I did NOT find it in either of my XP SP2 machines though.
Anybelly out there got XP SP3 running and want to look for it?

However, it really is interesting that you found it there. -
Well, remember dewed... XP 64-Bit IS Longhorn... for real and true. Vista and Win7 are based on it; they just write the registers different for the 32-Bit versions.
The only thing WRONG with XP64 is they DELIBERATELY hosed us on the driver base and WOW 32-Bit functionality; we wouldn't want people having ANOTHER reason to stick with XP, would we?

XPx64 is such a travesty that M$ does not even try to validate hot VLK copies that are found on the Internet. I guess that they figure that if you want to put yourself through that aggravation, they are not going to try and stop you.
That said, I wonder if Vista and Win7 drivers will work on XPx64. -
I didn't actually EXPECT to find it there; I just figured that if we found it bundled in with XPx86 SP3 we could get some idea where in the product development path they decided that it would be a useful tool...
If it existed in any 32-bit version of XP, it could probably be easily ported (if not just plain transplanted) as far back as Windows 2000; and I know some folks using antiques like that for data logging. I suspect that could be VERY useful to THEM...
