I think you need to start out with the READ ME FIRST thread stickied to the top of the forum... This will answer A LOT of your questions!

Yeah, just seen more in there!! am reading up on the pcm cia situation now...
so many decisions! Just ordered that wifi card and two antennas. not sure weather to scrap the gps and replace it with bluetooth, then maybe get a card reader or more usbs for the other pcm cia port, then just getting a litlle micro usb bluetooth for the rear port and keeping the gps!! GASP!!
thanks -
You really need to do A LOT more reading. It can really (Seriously) take weeks of reading to catch up on what's what and how to do things. These are so moddable and come with so many options and in so many different forms.
What is your full model number? (CF-28XXXXXXX) Post that and we can help a little more.
There can be several things under the battery... Several different types of modems OR GPS... It depends on the model. If you have pull-up antenna on your LCD... Chances are that you have a modem in there and not a GPS....
Post your full model number (on the bottom or better... in the BIOS) and we can help more. -
Hi this is the model, i am told american spec...
CF-28S3QGBDM
it has rim 902 gps i think. it does have an antenna on the lid.

Sorry.... No GPS... Per the Panasonic Configurator.....
Pentium III 1GHz, 13.3" NON touch screen, 30GB, 256 MB RAM, 56K/LAN, FDD, Mobitex with Multiband antenna Win 2000
BUT.... You DO have the daughterboard that allows you to add aftermarket GPS if you want to read up on that! MUCH better than the useless Mobitex modem! -
Cheers.
must have had the rim taken out? or added after as there is a sticker on the bottom. 30gb is now 160gb, and think someone has installed another 512mb. That mobitex will be getting removed then.. -
It is hard to tell unless you post pictures of what you have pertaining to your questions. I haven;t seen a truly stock CF-28 in years. Most have been hacked or hobbled together, swapping parts, etc.... So the true model number doesn't REALLY mean anything on most of them.
You are asking for pictures..... I think what YOU need to do is to post pics! It sounds like you have the needed daughterboard to add GPS. (You remove the useless $2.99 per minute dial up crap that is no longer supported and install a GPS!)
But I think you need to still do a little reading and post pics of YOUR setup so that we know what variant you have. -
ok I'll get some pics taken this wknd and get them up.
regards
Any pics of whats what?
