First off I am not selling any product or endorsement here.

Just wondering if anyone has used this softwear program or any like this and could give some inside advice.

    Connectify Hotspot - Technology Overview

As I understand W7 "Vertual WiFi" has the capability to connect my AT&T WWAN internet conection to a Ad-Hoc connection to the wifi output. In short I will be making my CF-30 a portable router or MiFi. Thus enabling others to gain net access through my service.
OK i know security security questions.

From my read this program would make my CF-30 a fully functioning router with many nice features that sound great and some to good to be true. Either way the cost is not outrageous and I am thinking of giving it a try.

    Features I find usfull.

    1. One of the issues with only using w7 "Virtual WiFi" simple application it is well know that if and when IT goes into sleep or hibernate mode the connections broken and or lost. Much of any controls need one needs to access netsh command lines. This program is said to give used control over this?

    2. True wifi router features

    3. CF-30 being used as a wifi repeater

    4. Capable of boosting wifi. I think equipment and driver restriction. Dont ask me how?

    5. Better password protection and 1 or 2 click operation.
    Just to name a few.

    For my application I see;
    A. 6 to 8 family, friends and coworkers that have laptops/tablets and games machines with wifi access only.
    B. Farming access to grain dryer and several key helpers need access.
    C. My lawn mowing and landscape business expanded net access.
    D. Vacations, family outings, cooks outs, auto access for fellow passengers.
    E. Power outages. (yes we have too many power outages over a year) But it is low on my list.

It Dose not have very good reviews.

$55 life time program access is not out of line if it does what it advertises, at least for me...

My girlfriend use to use it and like it until she got a router for her usb wifi to plug into. The newer version took away a lot of stuff. The older version you got everything for free. When it updated on her she couldn't do half the stuff she wanted too on it. So I had to find a older version. Not sure what number it was. 2. something or 1.something.

I have a Pro license for Hotspot and Dispatch. I bought it because it made it very simple to activate and deactivate a hotspot with decent security (WPA2) and control over access.

I have little use for Dispatch, it only really works well when you have multiple streams of data coming in or going out (eg. P2P.. if you're streaming media like Netflix or Youtube, or uploading using FTP-type technology, Dispatch will not help you. You're look at their Switchboard product that offers packet-level bonding.

Hi, this is Alex from Connectify. I hope you don't mind if I jump in and answer directly.

    1) Hibernation - Yes, Connectify protects you from all the problems around hibernation and virtual wifi/hostednetwork. It automatically sets things back up the way you had them, when it wakes up.
    2) Yes, it's a real router.
3 & 4) Using Connectify as a repeater: You can simultaneously join a Wi-Fi network, and create a hotspot with the same name and password (if the shared network is WPA or WPA2). So if you have a computer on your Wi-Fi network it can extend your range for other devices. A lot of people are using this to get Internet to their back yards or basements, by using a desktop computer they already had.
    5) Yes, we tried to make it as simple as possible while still giving control over the important stuff.

Finally, the Amazon reviews. I don't know what to tell you, selling on Amazon was the worst experience that we've ever had. It's not sold there anymore because I pulled the software. Amazon wrapped it in their own installer, refused to tell us who bought it, refused to put us in contact with the people writing the reviews, if any of them are real users I feel bad for them, but they never contacted us through our support email or forums.

We have over three million active users, and get back to every one of them that has a problem within a business day. Please take a look at our forums (obviously, there are people reporting issues, but given the scale of our user base, please take that into account): Connectify Customer Community Point is, we're here for you, and there is a 30 day money back guarantee if we can't resolve any issue that you have.

    Thank you,

    ---Alex
