I was browsing and found Apricorn 7200 RPM 100GB hard drives still for sale at MWave. linkage . I have ordered several items from MWave before and had nothing but good experiences. However, I have never heard of Apricorn before and that makes me a very nervous buyer. Still a brand new 7200 RPM drive is a nice find and they show in stock for about what you pay on EBay for a used Hitachi. Can anyone shed some light on these?

    "No Stock Available"
The item you have selected is not currently in stock!

Is what I see on the website that you link to

The manufacter's website has no current listing as well
So not looking to good on ordering a drive

I have never heard any bad things about Apricorn drives ,or any good things either
In fact I have never seen that manufacters products for sale anywhere

Apricorn is known for selling bundled upgrade kits which include the hard drive, partitioning software, and a USB cable enclosure for imaging the old drive to the new. They don't make their own hard drives and under their label you will usually find a more familiar brand name such as Toshiba or Hitachi.

Gateway Computer used to push those drives and I believe that some were OEM in their laptops. When we were going to upgrade drives in 9550 laptops that was the upgrade selection they offered.
