I was looking on ebay for replacement AC adapters, and it looks like they go for $20-25 with shipping. I found a place that will sell me 10 of them for $17.50/ea shipped. anyone want to go in on that? Or know of a better price? Maybe if I can push the order quantity even higher, I can get an even better price.

Gonna echo villageman here and say you probably won't find many takers. $20-$25 is an excellent price for an AC adapter, considering retailers sell them for anywhere from $50 - $120, depending on the computer. Start going much lower, and my mind starts to think there's a scam going on.

Are these Genuine Panasonic? I take it they do come with more than just the plug they show in the picture... <smirk>

I'm sure they are aftermarket. But, I've been using an aftermarket AC adapter for a couple years with no problems so I guess that aspect of it doesn't bother me.

Just got these in, take a look. So far I'm pleased and wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again. These are only 2" wide (compared to 2.5" for the stock adapter) so that is a plus as well.

as long as the output rating is match to a notebook that your are using, i can see that there is no problem.

I'm glad you mentioned that, it's a little different from the stock adapter. The stock one says 15.6V @ 3.85A. This one says 16V @ 3.75A. I'm sure that's well within the tolerance of the toughbook's specs. Either way it works out to 60W.

As a side note, isn't it amazing how small a package they can build a DC power supply in these days? I had an original IBM PC and I wanna say its P/S was rated at 65W.. It was the size of a small toaster oven :)

Speaking of AC adapters and such, does anyone know offhand what the size of the barrel connector for CF-28? I am using a multi-plug generic 12vdc cigarette lighter adapter (even indoors.... don't ask), and want to wire up something more proper.

Oh! really, it must be bigger than your laptop, hehehe!!. Yup! some toughbook has a mark for dc input from 15-16 voltsdc like cf-m34.
