Anyone tried an Intel 6200 wireless card on a CF-51?

I have used both an Intel 5100 and an Intel 4965 wireless card with good success (using the pin 20 mod) in my CF-51. But both are draft -n, I am trying to get a later model working that is on the ratified n standard and picked up an Intel 6200 and the adapter to use a half card in a full card slot. But it gets really hot and I have not been able to get it to work.

Has anybody experienced a similar issue?

    I've used a 5100 and a 1030, but not a 6200.
Most discussions I've read say the 6200 runs cooler than others, especially the 4965.
I have never checked the heat from any of my wifi cards.

Is it possible the adapter is shorting something out?

I am curious as to what's up. I just ordered a 6250 and adapter from the fleabay and am waiting for it to be shipped. I don't need the wimax, but he card was $7.00. The 6200 was $10.00.
I want to go from draft n to full n on one of my machines also.

Interesting...I am planning on giving the 6230 a shot because I want to add bluetooth to my MK3. I've been trying to find a deal on this card and an adapter that doesn't ship from China. I wonder if you just got a bad one? Another thought is getting a different adapter if yours is a solid one piece instead of something like this Mini half intel 6300 6250 6205 6230 6200 5300 wifi n card to full pci-e Bracket | eBay That's all I've got at the moment. Good luck!

    Here's one for $17.

    6230

If you can live without 5ghz, 1030's are like $12

    1030

    Both have bluetooth

Nope, want the 5ghz. Alas this card was already sold by the time I found the post. i hope someone who saw it here got it and can report back to us. Thanks though, I appreciate the help :) I'll keep watching until something shows up. Those of you who have dealt with China sellers, did you get what you were supposed to? I'm concerned about getting something labeled correctly but still a knock off. I know Rob and someone else at one time had issues with CF-19 rubber keyboards that were supposed to be at least backlit if not transmissive. Thus my hesitancy about buying from China.

I generally have had good luck buying direct from China.
One item had an issue out of probably 25 or so purchases. There is a chance of buying a fake item, but anymore the odds of that are the same with USA sellers.

Good to know. In the pursuit of trying to save money perhaps I'll try best offering a China seller and see what happens. I'm not in any great rush to get the parts though.

Give it a try. I have found most China sellers don't negotiate as much as US sellers. Usually you get a 1 or maybe 2 percent.

Good to know. That little isn't worth enough on these though. We'll see what happens.

I am going to double check the adapter isn't causing any issues. Plus I have ordered another 6200 to test. I will keep everyone informed. Still having great luck with the modded Intel 5100. I wish they would work without the mod, you would think there would not be an issue with changing wireless cards. But I know where the FCC is involved there are issues.
