Hello all,
Looking for an SSD for my cf-29 mk2. The s3500 series (160 gb) fits my needs. Will the 7mm height be a problem? I'll be using Techtuff's Pata to Sata conversion. Thanks.

Someone was having a problem getting that model to show in the BIOS on a CF-19 (natiive SATA) -- here is the thread:

Might want to see how that works out before trying extra tricks with an adapter. -

Read this thread, the drive you are looking at is for a server

Ooooo--thanks for the heads up. Remarkable that there's nothing I could find in the Newegg description that alerts one to the fact that this is for servers. It's listed under drives for laptops. Anyway, went with the Samsung 840 Evo series, 250 gb; 139 w/ free shipping w Amazon prime.

Wondered what that S was for preceding 3500. I'm running a Intel SSD 335 series 240 GB, downloaded in a MK5 and running in a MK1 (29) (because it was a version of Mint requiring a PAE processor...FOR INSTALLATION) Runs in any Mark. 1.2 to 1.6GHz. Or pull it out and install it in a CF-31 or anything.
What I did with Andre's (techtuff) converter was to cut the two doors off the plastic sleeve in the caddy. Nice easy fit...not crowded and not loose. -

Anyone tried the Intel DC S3500 series SSD in cf-29?
