Anyone using the Seagate Momentus XT 500GB SSD Hybrid 7200 RPM drive. Been looking at them to put in my CF-52 MK1 but was wondering how they stack up to a real SSD? They say they are fast but are they? I am using a Intel X25 in my CF-30 and its fast...boot time is 28 seconds to windows.

I had one in my CF-30. Nothing spectacular but it worked and was of course a 320 not a 500.

    EDIT: PM sent TBT.

I was using one while I was waiting for a newer model SSD to come out. I personally could not tell the difference between it and a regular mechanical HDD. However, some people claim they are like night and day, so who knows?

I use the X25M SSD in one of my 30's and I love it. One of the best SSD's ever made in my opinion.

That's what I am using in my CF-30 MK1 X25 80GB G2 and it runs great too. I was looking for one for my cf-52, I think I will get a 120GB or 160GB X25 ot there new 320 series drive

I put my Seagate Hybrid in the Cf-52 to delete some files and liked it so much in there that I may keep the whole nine yards.
Blair, How is the latch on your 52. Mine doesn't! (latch that is or is not as tight as it should be)

Jeff , mine locks fine. I did notice that mine has a very fine crack (antenna cover) that is only seen at the right angle. I was told this is caused by the latch...opening and closing.

I don't think we will see much difference until the SSD portion is much larger than a measly 4GB.
