    Hi all.

I've recently become the owner of a CF-F8 and so far despite a few minnor issues, I've been pleased with it.

Are there any other F8 owners out there to compair notes with?

I've been keeping a blog of my experiences and I'm looking to get the best out of the F8.

I've noticed a few graphical glitches (particuallly with fast action motion and on Sling player) and I'm wondering if I have the best graphics driver for it.

    Cheers

    Hi all.

I'm running Vista on my F8, and it runs quite well, I'm sure the 3 gb of Ram helps ;-)

Sling player is the applictaion for viewing the content of a slingbox over the internet - it streams your Tv output across the web.

hi onirakkiss- I've altered the settings on the blog so that you will be able to post, without having to log on.

    Cheers all

It would probably be a mistake
    My F8 has a 160gb 5400rpm Fujitsu hard drive
My impressions on the laptop in comparison with my cf-74 is that its seems wimpy, but some of that feeling is due to its light weight, and thin display screen
The speakers are very small, and are lacking bass
But to be fair it feels/looks better than my old w5

    Hi all.

Those Hard Drivestats are correct but a bit mis-leading, whats listed as a second partition on the results is actually an external USB harddrive.

Thanks for pointing it out I'll make it clearer on the blog later.

The speakers aren't great, have little bass and distort at high volumn levels, but i suspect this is because the focus of the Laptop is Business users.

As I get it setup for a multimedia system I'll plug in better speakers.

I've also tried Sling.com (the web based version of Sling player) and the video quality is superb, and I don't get the graphical glitches like on the Windows version of Sling player

**Update - I spoke to soon I'm still having problems with sling.com :-(

**Update 2 - "DOH" the Sling problem isn't Toughbook related I've just connected to my sling box from a different PC and get the same problem. Pleased it's not the Toughbook though

    Cheers

Oh yes the speakers are very small, this hit me last night when I was showing a DVD to friends and not everyone could hear the sound - even though the room was small.
Plugging in external speakers solved the problem.

    Hi all

I really wanted to improve the experience of listening to music on my CF-F8 so got myself a pair of Panasonic RP-HT225 headphones. Very good - takes a while to get used to the high bass levels but once you do, brilliant. :D

    Cheers
