Yep, another WWAN topic.
I want to replace the Novatel Wireless Expedite HSDPA modem EU740. WWAN card of my Panasonic Toughbook CF-19 (CF-19CHBAFT2 ), because i cant get it to work.
I can buy the following WWAN cards cheap in the Netherlands:
- Dell 5505
- Dell 5520 / KR-0WW761
- Dell 5530
- Dell 5530 / KM266
and
- Qualcomm 2723A-UNDP-1
Does anybody know if the above WWAN cards will work in my Cf-19 ?
or... where can i get the working drivers/software to use the old Novatel EU740 with the Vodafone network in the Netherlands ?

99,9% they will not work. They will be recognized as Dell devices and you will not be able to install Dell drivers.
What problem do you have with EU740? It has to work. Search for Mobilink software. It's free and contains drivers for Novatel modems.
Good luck. -

I tried several Mobilink software programs. None worked. The software says : Insert Sim. (some software says : Sim card inserted in the wrong direction). The Sim-card is working in my mobile phone. And the Vodafone sim works without problems on my CF-30 (mark3). The Novatell modem is recognised in Windows XP configuration screen on the CF-19 mark 1. But when i try the Diagnostics in the XP modem config, i get an error message.

Try to uninstall Mobilink and drivers from Control panel and from Device manager. And then reinstall Mobilink.
I'm sure this card has to work. -

When I bought these CF-19 it was pre-installed with Windows XP sp3 and some programs by the shop that sells them... I'll try reinstalling win xp sp3 myselve, and then installing the correct drivers in the correct order. Will report back if that works... (i hope so).

The Dell cards can be made to work, but it can be rather fiddly and how easy it is depends on the OS you using as well.
I don't know about the CF-19, or any of the Dell cards on your list, but I have a CF-30 with a Dell DW5550 working on Windows 8.1 64-bit.
The problem isn't with the hardware in the cards, but that the Dell driver package blocks installation if it detects its not running on certain models of Dell Laptops.
The trick is, is that when the Dell driver package is run it extracts out files to various temp directories.
Before you press ok to the 'unsupported laptop messagebox' on the driver package installer, you can grab copies of the extracted driver folders and then manually do a driver update from those copies.
Also if you have a newish card (Like the DW5550 (I think the 5530 is very similar), it supports Microsofts RNDIS interface, which is built into Windows 8. (Basically it means the card appears as a network adapter, and you don't need to run any special network providers software to connect, it just works out of the box.

Are these Dell WWAN cards okay for my CF-19 and CF-30 ?
