    Just switched out the 60GB factory hard drive in the CF-29 for the Samsung 160GB drive many folks are recommending. Now I'm running a lot faster, but the heat has increased to:

    I used cputhermometer to monitor the temps on the cf-29's mostly mk4-5's when upgrading hdd's, ram,wifi, touchscreens, whatever. The temps would start out high 20's and you would have to shut down the laptop and then start up the app again to get an accurate reading. Then the temps would go high 30's and if upgrading OS up into the mid to high 50's. Of course I would either use new thermal pads(heat dissipation rubbers) either heartlands OEM material or the frozencpu material and even did the heatpipe mod by placing some of the thermal pad that seemed to transfer more of the heat to the base of the laptop. It got warmer by doing this. Since those mods were done temps seemed to never get above mid 50's even with cpu intensive use applications. From what your numbers show it looks like a good range and not excessive. Some of the forum members said their readings got up into the 80's but they were using only artic silver5 ceramic and nothing else or AS5 with reused heat pads or just reused heat pads. The pads re-use if not too brittle seem to work well. the new pad material works as well and some better. No numbers here just observations by doing 15-20 of them. Some say not to mix the AS5 with the pad material but so far I've not seen anything bad yet. Hope this helps and hope I read your question right........Driller
