RANT MODE ON The cost of an internal CD-caddy has passed idiodic.

Latest quote is just under $300.! More than I paid for the whole laptop!

Sure would seem worthwhile if someone could figure out a BIOS hack to allow booting from USB or PCMCIA.
    RANT MODE OFF

    Sorry ...

Ebay is your friend at times like these. DVD/CDRW combo for at or slightly above $100.00

    Found one, thanks!

ebay is a pig-in-a-poke, anything reasonably priced is usually snapped up quickly, or the item arrives and is the wrong item or is somehow damaged.

I bought mine from a company that I believe I can trust. :)

    Thanks! doc

He got the quote from ww.heartlandsi.com. They are costly on some stuff but have very low prices on other stuff. It just depends.

For instance they might want $250 for a stick of RAM that you could buy on ebay or another brand of the same size for $75... But then they have ports covers for a fraction of the cost of what they go for on ebay!

Like I said... It just depends.
