Are you ready to have rubberized keyboard on your system? Also make sure it has the three ribbon cable on it coz based on the picture it doesn't show how many does it have also you may consider if you are replacing the standard one to rubberized keyboard you also need an special plastic bezel in front of it. The ordinary plastic bezel in front of a standard keyboard is also for an emmissive. FYI.

No I'm NOT ready for a rubber board. I wasn't aware that they were rubber. I would like the illuminated keyboard. Thank you for the heads up

    hey,
I have a backlit keyboard myself. But I would rather have one of those military style keyboards that are white or see through with the back light option, but I dont think they are available for the cf-29
    cheers

    The bezel is different?

I have rubber backlit on my mk1, and my sister has emissive chicklet on her mk3. i didn't notice a difference, but also was looking for one.

So I just installed my keyboard last night and all went pretty easy except for trying to get the flat ribbon cables to seat properly. My only minor complaint is that I wish that the LED back lighting was red in color instead of white. Oh well I'm happy that I can now type in the dark he he

    Problems with the rubber keyboard:

1.) It's a pain in the to touch type on. The tactile feedback is weird and sometimes the keys felt like they pressed, but you didn't make contact.
You get used to it though.

2.) The F1, F2, F3, etc keys aren't labeled on mine for their aux functions...
I had to print out a label with a stick on label machine so that I remember that Fn+F1/F2/F3 do brightness and External display switch. Fn+F4/F5/F6 do Mute and Volume control. Fn+F7 sleeps. Fn+F9 shows battery statistics. Fn+F10 suspends.

Sometimes I sleep the computer when I want louder volume. lol.
