Anyone know how to turn it on?
I do not think mine is on and I did not see anything in the control panel for it.
I have a CF-28 and it has the light sensor for the keyboard on the top left of the screen. But I covered it and nothing happened.

FUNCTION & F12 till it reaches the desired brightness, or cuts back , which ever comes first.

What type of backlit keyboard do you have, emissive or rubberized? A lot of CF-28s have the emissive installed but lack the other parts to make them work.

Do you have the hotkey driver loaded?
Or is there a yellow ? unknown device in the hardware manager?

I do not think that the hotkey driver is needed to make the emissive keyboard work.

    KM -

If you have the rubberized keypad, the f12 button should light up red whether or not you have the hotkey driver installed. To adjust the brightness, you need the hotkey driver installed. This model plugs directly into the MB without modification; there are a couple other illuminated keyboard models which require a ballast PCB and photosensor.

    Wrong sensor
That sensor is for to dim your transflective screen

The sensor is behind the keyboard near the left hing cover
If you have the hard key backlite model

Report the keyboard type and we can help further

    D'oh!

Den -I believe you're right. I was thinking f12 cuz that's the dimmer button, but I haven't had a working rubberized KB for a while so must have misremembered. I do remember it came on even when I was in BIOS, however.
