Hi, i bought a keyboard for a cf28, is a backlit non rubber model, i connected all the three connector to the respective connector holder, but none happens. What am i doing bad ? If anyone knows the pinout of the KBbackilt connector (3 wire) i can test it stand alone to check if it's good.

I've guess your unit don't have a keyboard inverter.

Don't I remember that one of the flexi connectors needs flipping over to insert correctly?

That's for later models. If that is the right emissive keyboard (technically electro-luminescent) for a CF-28 he will need the "Texas" inverter board to make it work. http://forum.notebookreview.com/panasonic/370512-unfamiliar-components-cf-28-a.html

What version is the keyboard? Is it originally from a cf28 or a cf29?

The ribbon cable with 3 wires makes me believe it's from a cf28. That inverter board creates a higher voltage to run the keyboard.

Now if you got a keyboard from a cf29, that's a different story. They operate on 5VDC.

No i disassebled the keyboard there's an "emissive" layer just underthe aluminium chassis that use two of the 3 wires (the middle wire is dead, just nc) so i should provide about 100vac, i think that i will make a little inverter, not so difficult, the ain problem is to do it very small, to fit it in a suitable place in the 28... maybe under the battery...

Yes but the point is that i alread have this one... and payd it very low, about 18 euros (30usd), so i just want to make this one working, yesterday i connected a little transformer (not an autobot) and give it little hv spikes, it made some flashes, so it can be done. Now i just have to find a way to dimm it, if i can find the originale connection i can use it (it should be already dimmed), or can exploit the screen duty/enable signals to switch it on/off and dimm... Mhhhh....
