I will receive soon a cf19mk1 and on this pc the badge with the toughbook logo (the one in the center behind the monitor) is not in mint condition. I'd like to exchange it and i found one NEW on ebay.
Is easy to exchange this component ? is glooed ? i need to overheat the case to "unglooed" it ?

Other question is, i would like to paint te nb with nato olive drab color.
For the paint job no problem, a friend of mine do this for job but i want to ask you if to dismantle the nb is difficult or not. I have good manuality and good tools at home.

    Thank you in advance.

It is fairly easy to change that bit out. Yes it is glued but comes off with just a little bit of work. Pry up one end and keep pulling. I haven't had to heat it up.

Rather than paint, I would suggest #285 NATO Olive Green powder coating: a lot more durable; but requires complete disassembly/reassembly of your Toughbook.

I've had plenty of these I've had to replace and I've used a pair of pliers to rip the old badge off. Then I use MEK (Methel ethel ketone) to remove the glue before I put a brand new one on.

Additionally - these badges are VERY cheap to buy directly from Heartland. They are about $5 - $10/each.

    Thanks
