    Hello!
Does anyone have a schematic of what the pins on the battery are?
I have worked out the + and - on my own!
I assume that the big + is used for the charging only so that measuring across that terminal and the earth shows no voltage.
Does seem to be some voltage at the next terminal in and nothing at the rest.
Again I assume that some of these are used for charging info etc.
    Thanks.

    for what model#?
check the toughbook resource thread for the service manual/schematic (I'm not trying to be a dbag, that's just where I would look first).

I'm arrogant, and am going to just assume that it's for a 29 or a 52 (same battery). For a 29, the HDD connector and the battery connector are on the same pcb.

    lettuce snow.

    It's a good point!
Having a Pansionic battery charger I assumed they all had the same pins, certaintly thats true for the CF-51/52! Actually I was interested in the VSU14 or whatever is in the second battery pack and that has less pins. Thats why you actually have to have the second battery pack on the CF-72 to charge the battey out of the machine
Just bought a second battery pack CF-VZSU1473U which was described as having a dead battery even though it was unused and they were right! Basicaly these are just a caddy, a pcb and the puny VSU14 battery. So worst case is that I will need to find a VSU14 that actually charges to have any use from it.
I love my 72's but the batteries sucked even when at full capacity, maybe 90mins if you were lucky.
There is still 7V in it but it will not charge either in a machine or externally in the charger. I am aware that these are basically designed to fail but it would have been nice if it failed after at least having the decency to work for a while!
