I'm rebuilding an old CF-27 Panasonic battery pack (model #CF-VZSU04)
It uses (9) CGR17670HC Panasonic cells, and I wanted to replace it with these:

It should be a straight swap. Do the gurus in the house have any suggestions in regards to rebuilding packs?

According to Stan's fabulous Cf-27 battery change guide (message #707 in the toughbook yahoo group: tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/toughbooks/)
It looks like its a bit tricky to solder them, but not too bad. The charge controller issue seems like a complex issue, from what I understand:
1)Replacing the stock Li-Ions with higher capacity batteries can cause issues. (bad), as it appears the charger controller is programmed to work only with CGR17670 Panasonic batteries.
2)Straight swap replacement seems like it should work.
My goal isn't to push the battery beyond its specs, simply to bring it back up to spec. -
Looks like CGR-17670s aren't available on eBay
There are sony replacements available, tinyurl.com/5jp4ec
However, I will have to see if the charge graphs are similar to Panasonic's.
