4-Port Remote Power Switch with Timer~ Web Control

Ohhh the things I could do with this... :) I'm just thinking now... :)

I'll do some more researching too to maybe find a wireless one as well...

Ideas anyone? I need some GOOOOOOD excuses to buy this! Help me out! :D

Its power reboot by ping function automatically reboots any controlled devices if they stop responding to pings!

I found it here for about $75 (with ping reboot) (without ping reboot would be $68)... http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=9258T-PING&cpc=SCH

    Here are my thoughts...

    1) I want both bedrooms and the front room on the network...
    2) I want to have a 4'th plug just in case (which is good)
    3) I want to have 4 touchscreen interfaces (Probably toughbooks or ipads) around the house (Maybe mounted on the wall, maybe not). For example - 1 in the living room, 1 in each bedroom, 1 in the kitchen
    4) With those 4 toughbooks I could also control the music using an apple airport express for the stereo.

The thing is this: it has to work ROCK SOLID because if it doesn't or it flakes out then we can't even turn on our damn lights... lol IT HAS TO WORK!

I love living high tech and complicated... haha. Samantha is cool about it was well! Excited actually...

I crunched some numbers and to get 4 laptops with everything it's gonna be about $1600... WAY more than I want to spend... So I'm remapping my idea to only the living room/stereo/lights etc with 1 laptop that isn't mounted to the wall... I can then make the custom URL's to control which lamps I want on and whatnot. I figured I can do that with a Toughbook T5 for about $500... which is about what I wanna spend...

I also thought: why would I want my bedroom lights on the computer... screw it! lol

LoL. Not good for my budget :p (wife will never allow it).

But what is the current limit on each of those ports? How much power can it actually handle?

cool stuff though, let me know if you find out the above.

    thanks

15A total/ 6A/outlet... which is MORE than enough for lights...

Here is the manual: http://www.arucaelectronics.com/shop/productresources/9258 Manual.pdf

You can set custom URL's to make the outlets do whatever you want...

You can also get the add-on pack to get 8 outlets... The Japanese really kick @$$!

P.S, yes, the wife would KILL me lol

Cool, lots of uses. That would be a good system to have running when you are on vacation as to not give burgles the idea that you are not home.

Do yourself a favor and start scouring fleaBay for some used Crestron equipment; they've been doing professionally for the last 20 years what you're trying to cobble together here.

Their Prodigy home automation line even has an app for iPwn. ;) and if you saw what their equipment can do with home theater, you would kneel down and weep.
