    A useful mod!

I wanted the rings that mount at the rear of some CF-29s, but alas they do not work with a MkV! With a large camera sling around your neck and a Velcro loop around the front of your belt it could be used a s an impromptu mobile desk! :D

Rob, any chance of getting these strap rings to work in a mk5?? I don't see provision for mounting, unlike the 18 which has 'em in all four corners.

good evening gentlemen, Ron.. all cf-29 has provision for d ring. On MK4 and MK5 it was cover only by a thin plastic covering. Make an inspection on the two corner at the back and you will see the screw hole on it. If you need those d ring let me know. I have an spare here. Its a bit worn but in good condition.

Teo, ah... that's where the sucker is!! Great!!

I don't want my 29 to take another drop. The last time it did was when the bag's clip broke and landed near the expressway's service shoulder. 29 fell out of the bag and was ran over by a Benz sedan, I think, and what appeared to be a Datsun pickup truck with two passengers in the rear.

Sustained moderate damage... some deep scratches to the bottom covers, from the asphalt, and a cracked touchscreen panel that was replaced with a non-touch from Alex. Not a crack on the lid or anywhere else and still work as expected.

My extra Targus shoulder strap will work well with the rings, so yeah, I'll buy that but pleeeaaassee.... don't be like Alex, who hasn't gotten back on how much to paypal him. I will feel terrible like a leech and I don't know what to give back to folks with more TB stuffs than I do.

    Many thanks & keep well.

I am afraid it is time for me to admit that I finally need glasses! But by looking at the picture of that H3lpMedic had posted of his Mk4 in the for sale section, I knew exactly were they went and have looked at that spot many times, even though of drilling and tapping for a QD rifle swivel there! I would have bet money that there were no holes there!

Thanks Teo, you have mail! I can find the missing screws! :D

:rolleyes:Yeah, but that is OK. By your definition, so was Einstein.

I doubt that he had the gestalt insight, without someone actually telling him, that a painted over plastic decal hid a threaded hole...

This is a pretty marginal thing for you to hang your hat on, while seeking validation... :)
