I am considering the purchase of a GOBI card for my CF31A and am wondering, what is the best deal out there at this time?

I do not need it all the time, and when I do my usage would be limited to eMail and some browsing. I might watch a streaming movie every now and then, but this would be a more rare use.

I am with Sprint presently and get a pretty good deal from them, but they do not seem interested in giving me a good deal in wireless. I have looked at their unlimited usage plan, but that does not allow tethering...

Part of my interest in a GOBI card is to add GPS to my CF-31A, so take that into consideration.

    Random information

Gobi 4000 has a dedicated connector for a GPS antenna.
All of the older Gobi's (1000-3000) share the WWAN antenna for GPS.
The Gobi 4000 with a proper dedicated antenna GPS hould perform much better than the older units.

Otherwise a dedicated GPS module and whatever Gobi fits your needs, 3G, 4G, LTE etc...
Lots of options for GPS module. $40 and up in cost.....

Verizon at $30 for $2BG, and up...

Well I wish it was that price in Canada. I would take the 6 GB. It might be ok if you stayed away from streaming movies.

The best deal you are going to find is a family share plan for your cell and add a wireless access point. I know, you will have to carry the huge (size of a pack of playing cards or less) device around with you, but that's the price you pay for not having everything internal.

I also agree with using a Family Share plan.
I always have my Samsung Galaxay S5 with me so I simply pair over bluetooth and use part of the 16GB that is available each month.
There are 4 phones and one tablet on the plan along with my accasional use and we have never gone over our limit.
By the way we use AT&T.

AT&T gave me the access point free and don't charge me for the device on the family plan. The device is about 2/3 the size and 1 1/2 times the thickness of a 2.5 inch hard drive.

A few months back I updated my AT&T plan to the new one with rollover data. At the time I got it they had a promo. I get 30gb a month for there normal price of 15gb. I have yet to run anywhere close to the limit. There promo also had a quad core LG 7" tablet that has 4g built in and can be used as a hotspot.
