I am looking to upgrade my cf 29 HDD. The hard drives range from $90 and higher for that size. I assume there is no better deal than that?

That is about normal for this drive. BTW, I have not found anything bigger than 320GB. You can find some decent deals at times on eBay but most times they are over $100.

back in jan. just after new years I walked into best buy and they were selling the WD3200BEVE for $54.00. I bought 5 then. was only able to take the one they had home and back ordered the other 4. got them in a week. now they are 89.00 at best buy last time I checked. occasionally ebaywill have some go for 70-80. then there is the S&H. there are some refurbished hdd of this variety but not sure I'd like to gamblefor a $20 savings. again, there's S&H. the samsung pata 160GB for $50's and you guessed it, S&H. heard samsung is about to sell off its hard drive division with seagate and WD taking the lions share of the market. still a good drive. FWIW.............Driller

Make sure you're buying from Amazon directly; if you buy from a vendor on Amazon in many cases you'll find they're the same people with storefronts on eBay, so no great guarantee of quality.

I've never regretted a purchase made from NewEgg; I can't say that for Amazon.
