I am looking for some good alternatives to buying original screws for bottom and sides of a CF-29. Any suggestions for good online vendors who had the correct size and quality screws would be appreciated. Thanks.

Wait for Rob to chime in. He usually has "many" (as in a bucket) of them. He may sell you a handful.

I am NOT with Proton any more, but I can still make stuff happen.

There is still a bucket of laptop screws at Proton... Who needs some?

Whoever does: just paypal $8 to cover shipping to [email protected] and I'll make it happen.

Please PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE include a note in the Paypal that says "Rob is sending me some screws, please talk to ROB ONLY BEFORE SHIPPING".

    Thanks guys!

Yep. I haven't had time to figure out where to go to try some out. I did notice that the local Taylors has some incredibly small metric CRES screws. I was gonna take my extra lid up there and screw around, but haven't gotten to it.....
I'll report back when I do.

My god, mate. That pun was awful. Please tell me it was unintentional. Because if it wasn't, you have some serious learning to do, my young padawan. :D

Yeah... A hoby store is a great place to go if you only need a few. But if you are going to be working on several... You might as well pony up just a few bucks and buy bulk.

I ordered several hundred stainless steel hex screws for the lids of CF-29s/30s... They look great and will never rust. The bottom screws are another story... I ran out... But I have enough carcasses around to pull from.
