I ordered both cards to see if the one with the internal antenna would fit.
It would IF... you are willing to loose the wiring on the back of the Modem/NIC connector. It looks to me like the wiring is what is stopping it and not by much. But since I wanted to keep my modem and NIC, I did not force it. The Billionton with the little actual antenna that you can swivel up and down, dos fit as others have reporter so nothing new there.
Don't forget, you may have to go into BIOS to activate card bus B.
In the end it works ok. The software that came with the card sucks, but I can connect my Treo 700wx with no problem. Did not test range as my intrest was... well not sure!!! Guess cause just so I can have built in bluetooth!!!!

Rich.... You DO have to go into the BIOS to enable Cardbus B... It is disabled when you put the card in.

Are you sure you got the Billionton software for the card? I love the Billionton software. It is MILES ahead fo 3Com's stuff. Which is crap!

You might try Dremeling the back of the side LAN/Modem cover. There are raised areas that house screws from the LAN assembly. I always trim these flush with the screw housing and have no problems fitting the BT Card. (I use the one with the swivel antenna.)

Ok Rick has confirmed that after install you DO have to activate the card bus B in the BIOS.
As I pointed out, I wanted to try the card with the built in antenna. It was so close I could see with a little material removal it would go, but since I had the one with the external antenna, thats what I put in.
I will look through the software again, maybe I missed something.

I kind of came to the same conclusion you did about the billionton software.. it seemed to me that it sucked! sometimes my card would work, sometimes it wouldn't. couldn't understand why. the little dell USB stick i've got in our desktop computer always works. never an issue ever.

I just installed one and had no issues - enabled it in the BIOS and loaded the software from the disc and whammo - BT ready to go. Had my Treo paired and doing a Hotsync no sweat. Used the Billionton that TB recommended.

BOOO windows - I have a 700P - all I had to do was set up a new connection through the set up devices in the bluetooth section. not sure how WX is set up but you should have an option to set up a hotsync from your BT section. Same as if you were setting up a hands free ear piece. Palm gives the option to set up a hands free device or a hotsync. You just have to get your palm to send a request to pair with your TB - it will ask you to trade a pim code and whammo - I believe I also had to initiate the search function on the TB so the two could see each other - also make sure you have your Palm BT set to "visable" I usually have mine set to "hidden" so I have to change it when pairing a new BT device.
Hope this helps and sorry I am not any more help with the WX version -

Well I have about 2 hours invested fighting with it and give up. I am going to call verizon support. I get all the way to dialing using the phone for a modem and can not get it to connect. Sync... have not even tackled that yet. This is my third Palm Treo, first 2 were Pal OS and I used the bluetooth with several devices, hands free car kit (volume sucked and gave it up) ear piece and that was easy like you said, gotta be a 700WX issue I am missing.
Oh well, worry about it Monday.

Ummm... Rick - dumb question - do you already have a digital data plan with Verizon? I know from experience with my KRZR that if you don't have the EVDO data plan, your phone's data Bluetooth will not function. I KNOW... you say "But I SHOULD be able to dial out on my phone even at dial-up speeds." And you're RIGHT... you SHOULD... except that Verizon in their infinite wisdom deliberately cripples their phones; removing bluetooth data connectivity UNLESS you have EVDO data service enabled. This is to FORCE you pay ANOTHER $60/mo for their crap digital data service, even if all you want is to be able to get online once in a while & check your eMail, where dial-up speeds would be more than enough.

This is one of MANY reasons (along with them crippling the MP3 player in my MP3 phone to try & force me to buy music from their retarded V3 network) I'm dumping VeriSuck just as SOON as I possibly can... sooner if AllTel ever gets established in my town.

Yes data plan. I can browse the web directly from the phone. When I fire off explorer from the phone it connects the same way I am tryng to with the blue tooth.

I really don't know for certain, I don't own any kind of recent smartphone. From what I can gather on the website, pda.net is intended to use your existing wireless data plan & acts as a conduit for it to your other computer devices. Since Verizon's firmware turns on the bluetooth connectivity if you have their data service turned on, I don't see why it wouldn't work... of course, it probably wouldn't be necessary, either.

    EDIT -
Well then Rick, pda.net MAY BE the missing link you're looking for; according to the ppl at Verisuck, I certainly COULD connect my KRZR to my laptop, all I had to do was pay the same $60/mo extra as if I bought a broadband card for my laptop...

    mnem
As with most of life, this is entirely conjecture...

I have sprint and as you know, they are as greedy as verisuck. You pay for an internet data plan, but lots more if you want to tether your phone to a laptop and use it as a modem. That means that they disable the tether feature; pda.net hacks around that, so that you can tether and use phone as modem.
