I went to an auction house last weekend and noticed a bunch of CF-28s for sale. Got an e-mail from them today and they have another 100 for sale, supposedly at extremely low prices. I thought I would be interested in bidding up to $35 or so on one or two but some didn't have batteries, some no hard drives and none had a DVD drive. And you really don't know if anything else is wrong with them. They all belonged to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office and are being auctioned by www.tampaliquidation.com if anyone is interested, I'm not. Auction is today and you can place your bids via phone, I think. But if you do buy a bunch, let me know, and maybe we can arrange something for pickup, etc.

If you win any for $30-40, you can't really go wrong even if they are broken. You would get your money back out of the parts.

When I looked at the ones available last Saturday, I thought that they were pretty banged-up, that is, scratched cases and most of the screens had a discolor to them. They also had the smaller screen models (maybe 10" screen) that began with 'M' and seemed in a little better shape. If I had more time, maybe I could get a bunch for around $20 each. But then, I don't know enough about parting them out.
