I've had a busy few days working on my systems, I've got most of all the work needed done.

This consisted of upgrading (2) CF28's (MK3, 1ghz) to 80gb, installing a factory wifi antenna and a Cisco AIR LC352 back into one of them, swapping covers, installing a touchscreen 13.1 in display on a machine that was missing the touchscreen (it had cracked but the lcd monitor underneat was pristine), installing an intel wifi card and antennas into an MK2 (800mhz), replaced a missing keyboard...

I was rummaging around in my junk box and found the perfect "aftermarket" wifi antenna, can use the existing rubber piece where the RIM antenna was as well. This antenna came from an IBM wifi kit that included the pci card and (2) antennas.

The rp-sma bulkhead connector will fit with ease through the existing rubber piece and I can superglue the butt end of the bulkhead to the existing metal sleeve (that sits under the rubber antenna hood).

I am this installing on an MK2 (800mhz) with an intel mini-pci wifi card. I tried running the wire antennas to the side plate (where the gps bump would be) and one up the rear of the lcd. It works but it has poor reception of course.

PS I'll trade you this antenna for a factory WIFI antenna ;) (I like the old Cisco cards and it lets me make use of the extra mini-pci slot too!)

ETA: I guess the bulkhead connector will just screw onto the metal piece under the rubber hood as there is more than enough room to place a nut on each side of the plate, and then I could fill the resulting open area under the hood with silicon to waterproof the bottom. I can't wait to get my bulkhead connector and pigtail.

ETA: I forgot to mention that since the AIR-LC352 has (2) MMCX connecors I am also adding an extra bulkhead from the "factory" wifi to the side plate where the ethernet and modem jacks are. I just haven't come up with a nice way to mount it yet, I am researching making a recessed well into it. I just don't have any extra plates at the moment don't want to ruin this one. I am waiting to receive 2 that I (may have) obtained. I re-used a second old "rim" pigtail (MMCX) to the pass-through assy since it's long enough and will solder on a new bulkhead onto it instead. (this way I can still use the pass-through already installed when I get a docking system)

(also bear in mind I'm talking about multiple machines here, the MK3 1ghz and the MK2 800mhz I'm working on, one with intel mini-pci wifi and (2) with "Factory" Cisco in "hidden" pcmcia slot. )

I have a factory wifi antenna that I will trade you for that setup! I can also include the dual pass-through if you want it. PM me for finalizing!

I like that little antenna! I need one for my wife's CF-M34. The stock antenna there SUCKS! I need something small but that will get the job done!

I had a few inquiries about the WIFI Kit. I got it new from IBM at the time but right now on ebay there are 20 kits for sale. A new IBM PCI card and (2) antennas included with each kit.

    See http://cgi.ebay.com/IBM-WIRELESS-PC...45001QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1713.m153.l1262

I realize that after time ebay will delete this url so those of you reading in the future, look for "22P6901" and you shall find what you're looking for, just make sure it includes the (2) antennas IBM provided with the card.

I forgot to mention that the mini-pci card I am using is the "Intel PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini-CI Adapter"...I got this from Kusa...but put it into a different machine since I retrofitted a factory wifi back into that unit.
