Hi all
I am posting because I just cant seem to get a resolution from what I have tried. I have Cf 18 that had an original oem battery of @ 5.56 AH, I went and bought new oem battery of
@ 7.76 AH. I let it charge up and own several cycles to get the tablet to recognize the capacity. The problem is that no matter what I do the tablet reads the new ones as @5.56 AH with no wear or loss of charge(new) oem of @7.76 AH. I went over my original install of win 7 on this unit and checked that I followed all the instructions as I followed from a post here. Everything works perfectly, just don't have the increased battery time I wanted. As the batteries are oem they can get expensive as I have two CF 18 units.
Any info or advise to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.................................![]()

1. You might try resetting your BIOS to default. This seems to be the fist line of defense against anything.
2. Don't just charge and discharge. You need to use the Panasonic Battery Recalibration tool. It will charge/discharge/charge and give you an accurate indication of what is going on.
3. Are you 100% sure that the battery you bought is OEM? It didn't come from China did it? Aftermarket batteries do not work (usually) with Panny's software even though they will power the laptop. -

I buy nothing from China unless I know it won't make a difference in what I am building. Some things don't really matter if they are simple enough... Like the LED strips I just bought to fix LCD screens. (Like Teo's post)
Everything else is junk, IMO... -
No it is oem , expensive. Just wanted extra capacity. Will try to reinstall Panasonic battery program.

This small program I also use BatteryBar - Free download and software reviews - CNET Download.com . Gives a good idea of how good your battery is.

The problem with buying NOS (New Old Stock) is that it can be a brand new battery... But if it has been sitting on the shelf for 6-7 years... It will still not charge all the way or may not otherwise perform as new. I would much rather have an older battery that has been exercised than a new one sitting on a shelf.
It may work a little better with use. -
I am convinced that they are new, as both batteries read 54 W on my CF 18s, I purchased two 76W batteries to replace them. Someone suggested that being compatible with a CF 19 at higher amperage, that original CF 18 was designed for 76W.
I reinstalled the original drivers and did a battery calibrations. See pic for info. Just have to live with it.
The info is from CF 18H to N models. 18MK4-5_X_E_OI_XA user manualAttached Files:

1517... I think you missed my point. You may well have purchased a new battery... But maybe it had been sitting on the shelf for 4 years. I purchased a bunch of CF-30 media bay batteries a while back. All were new, but old stock. 2 of the 9 batteries that I bought needed new batteries that I swapped out of other models to get them working.
Just saying that you may need to exercise them for a while to get results. You may or may not get them to work right. -
@ Toughbook; the CF-30 Media bay batteries you got was they easy to open/change out bad cells? I am looking at a ebay vendor that has this battery available, It looks to be NOS as well.
Just wondering if I should order more than one? -
Yes.... Very easy to swap. You'll need to search around to find out the comparable battery that switches with it. I can't remember 100% what fits inside it... But it was a plug and play fit. Maybe the CF-72 battery... I can't remember.
Please PM me the link to the battery if the seller has more than one at a decent price. -
