Did the CD to DVD swap [sans pictures, I might add...hint...hint...].

Went well. New drive was recognized in my cf-28 1k machine running XP pro, but when I popped the sled into an old 600 with Win2K, it is not recognized at all.

    What gives????

    Thanks in advance.

Hmmmm... Might you have to use the Hardware wizard?

    Check in the bios
    Will it recognize the drive?

Well, it's workin' OK now. I don't know exactly what I did...

Just set it back up to try some of the suggestions here, and it worked fine. Windows is wunnerful, is it not??

    Thanks for the replies.
