Hey everyone im new to the forum and just wanted to say hi! Also I have an issue with my cd-rom drive. I put the drive into the MP slot and the drive will show up in file explorer and in the device manager but the drive wont open and if i use the pin hole to open it and put a cd in it wont read the cd. I was wondering if maybe this is a drive issue or an issue with the MP slot.

    Thanks
    Adam

I tried putting the drive back in the mp slot and the drive's light will flash once and my computer reads the drive as being there but will still not work. So i guess i just have a bad drive.

Its defective. You need to change the cd rom(bare). if you don't have the ability to solder the two spot to mod. into DVD r/w. I recommend UJDA 750 combo drive, no soldering just swap the cd rom and your set.

the computer I'm using right now is doing this same thing, I'm just too lazy to take out the 1 screw to replace the drive. Hmm, maybe I should save my money and get a blue ray drive for my desktop..... *ponders*

I had given it some thought when I upgraded the drive in my cf30
You might get it to work on some features
But without the video support it would seem to me to be a waste of money

Do the cf-30s even have the video support for blu ray?

Adam... I think it will.... But why pay $25 for something that can't burn a DVD when you can solder one spec and have the newest, fastest technology and be able to burn even dual layer DVDs? Oh... And you'd only spend about an extra $15 over what you are looking at now....

    Just a thought...

Yes the built-in video has no support for blu-ray

Not the best , the front bezel sticks out a bit on that drive
You want one that has a flush bezel
