Hi guy's.
I have a problem with my CF 18. When I boot it up and it reaches the homepage the cursor keeps jumping around and random boxes open on their own. I can not take charge of the cursor when this happens in order to use the laptop.
I did some digging on google and it seems the fault is to do with the GPS and if I disable the GPS my problem will be cured. Trouble is I cant get into the bios to alter GPS settings as I don't have the password. I have stripped it down and disconnected cmos battery for 20 mins hoping to clear bios password but its still present! What would happen if I just unscrew the GPS antenna to the right of the screen? Is there a factory bios password?
Many Thanks,
Lance.

Sorry we can't talk about the bios password, BUT you can unhook the gps connector from the board.
This is what you are looking for. No need to unscrew it, just disconnect the white flat cable.
In the lower right corner of that last picture is the daughterboard that contains the GPS. The card on top is WWAN, the bluetooth and GPS is on the bottom of that card so you have to unscrew that daughter card to get to it. -
Cheers guys,
I've had it apart once already to disconnect the cmos battery. I dont want to take it apart again really. Will unscrewing the anntena do the trick?
Thanks again. -
Im thinking unscrew antena and cut the cable then tape it up?

Why not install the registry patch for the gps and leave it installed?
No, cutting the antenna cable will not work. -
I dont need the GPS function and will never use it. Its purley used for auto diagnostics.

disassemble the unit and remove the gps and antenna completely...Sell the gps in the buy sell trade forum?
It will sell fast...

Cutting the antenna will not disable the GPS because the GPS is still installed in the 19
