    Hi

I just bought a CF18 on ebay and I installed the GPS. Unfortunately in BIOS there is no possibility to enable the GPS device (no choce present in the BIOS menu). Is there a possibility to update the bios? Maybe bios don't recognize GPS because GPS is not regurarly installed?

Thanks for any help in advance!!!

i think you will also need the appropriate drivers before it will work. not sure if the toughbooks are produced with all drivers present or just the ones for the parts installed. dont mess with the bios until you know for certain you have to. and even then, only do it if you really have to.

I can say that when I installed the GPS in my CF-19, the option in the BIOS did not show up until it was installed correctly, and the drivers were installed. Once the cable is connected, and the drivers installed, the option in the BIOS showed up to enable. I hope this helps and is the same for the CF-18. FYI, it was the same on the CF-28 and CF-29.

The gps option on the bios will only be display if you've installed the gps into its serial terminal on the motherboard correctly. It will not display on the bios If you use a ie...USB type or BT type. May I know what type of gps you've installed?

Thanks of all thanks for all reply!!
Unfortunately none of this file is working. When I launch the exe file the message "this machine doesnt' support this file" appears.
The full model is CF18BEK01ME and the gps module should be a Panasonic.

    what can I do more?
