    Hi everyone,

I recently made a great purchase on eBay of getting a CF-18 toughbook off of eBay for about £350, and recieved it today. I have to say I am very impressed with the model overall, it is absolutely fantastic!

HOWEVER! I have encountered a couple of problems which are no doubt related to the previous owners tinkerings:

    • The hotkeys at the front do not work apart from the brightness adjuster
    • The wireless does not appear to be working although this may be due to the fact that I am currently at work and am not sure how strong the connection is
    • Configuring the pen in landscape mode works perfectly fine, but when I try to configure the portait mode (using the tablet option in the control panel), it doesn't work at all, and I have to click in completely different areas just to make it recognise that I am clicking in the areas it wants me to click!

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you! :)

    Harby,
Welcome to the forum. You first need to give us your complete model #, ie CF-18XXXXXXX. Then, take a few minutes to search the forum, hours have been spent solving this problem in the last few weeks. Search the forum using Google- CF-18.

    Hi Dogfish,

Thanks for the info, I'm quite a newbie at tablets so am not completely sure what I was looking for but my model is the cf-18dhb22ka. From what I've gathered from you previous posts that its a handdown from a company or something? The problem is, as I've already said that the wireless light keeps on blinking on the front, and I can't seem to connect or even see any wireless networks when I enable it and look at the wireless networks availible. Any idea?

Also I saw a post by a member called 'James' who talked about the auto rotating thing, but I have installed this and can't seem to find the 'icon' which he is on about to set my preferences for how it is rotated?

    Many thanks again!

Try updating your wireless driver from the panasonic website, as for auto rotate it is a part of the panasonic driver pack and normally can be accessed in your taskbar, right by your time and the secondary button tool for tablet mode( lower right corner )

Thanks guys, in the time I have fixed the wireless and rotation and even the hotkey button issues! : D

However I was wondering if anyone could help me with the problem of how I cannot seem to properly configure the pen when it asks me to configure it in portrait mode? Really annoying : (

I always do the calibration in laptop mode then it holds the calibration well no matter how I have it rotated

    Harby,
Sounds like you're doing pretty well. Do you have Win Tablet loaded or XP?
A lot of the Australian CF-18 touch screen models have been coming to the States loaded with Tablet. All of our efforts here have been to get the machines to work with the correct OS.
