Hey Folks, I know there are lots of posts but after days of looking around I haven't been able to solve my problem. I have a CF 29E (MK2) with a factory GPS. No matter what software I try it just says "awaiting better accuracy" or "acquiring signal". I have had it sitting on for over an hour and no luck. The GPS is on port 3, I have it enabled in BIOs and that's it. At this point I'm a little balder than I was and still no GPS. Help!

Try close to a window, or outside if possible

I tried it outside in the parking lot. No obstructions. I also just installed GPS Info and it found the unit right away. Seems to be sending some sort of data as there are tons of numbers scrolling down the screen. Same thing in Visual GPS. I love the computer but it's just a laptop without all the features working.

Welcome back, Alex! So, hows CR. Did somebody look for you the other week?

Anyway, usarms...check your antena. If it is streaming, it means its working but can't pick up signal. Try to reseated.

That is an OEM gps right? then unscrew the screws on both side of the plastic covering on the top of the battery compartment and then carefully pull it out. When you already pulled that sled with the gps. unscrew all the screws of the sled itself including the center screw on the black plastic containing the antena. Crefully pull the plastic part to separate it into the sled. The sled consist of three parts. the plastic covering for the antena and two metal enclosure housing which contain the pcb board and the gps module.

Edit: CAUTION, before you go ahead make sure your battery is out and the unit is not plug in

Set the baud rate to 4800 baud in the software program that you are using ,just incase thats what it needs to be set to for proper comunication

Nothin yet. Reset everything back to factory specs like it was a new install. It shows up fine on port 3, set at 4800 but no dice. Just scrolls numbers and never locks onto any sats. :(
