So after being a mk3 CF29 to a mk4 CF29 user for a very long time with the 2GB memory and the 160GB samsung i have finally won a CF30 with touch for around $700 on ebay. I just ordered 4GB ram and a 120GB SSD, got it on sale. $180 for both. I know the machine is 32 bit so it wont use all of the memory but oh well.

Been looking for a touch CF 30 for a while. Hope the screen is brighter, my current TB brightness is very very low. Unfortunately i did not get the C2D version but ehh this is already a huge upgrade. I prefer the look of mine though.

Will post how blazing it is with that SSD. Should be tolerable.

    I have installed SSD's in my cf-19 and cf-30
Fast boot times and instant response when you load an application
    You will notice the difference
1000nit is twice the brightness that the cf-29's have ,again you will notice the difference

Your link says the SSD is a 3.5" form factor drive. Will it fit in a CF-29 caddy? I thought it needed a 2.5" form factor. Hope I'm wrong :(

I am thinking of going ssd as well in a CF30. The OZC drive has alot of negative feedback. What drives do you like? Do you like this one?

Newegg.com - Intel X25-M SSDSA2MH080G2K5 2.5" 80GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Yes I noticed that too Nick
The Intel X25M is the safe bet right now
I am thinking about either the 80GB or 120GB for my next upgrade

    Answer these questions.

How many GB's do you need?
What is the primary use of the computer?
How much do you want to spend?
Do you have to have the LATEST model out there?

I own and have used alot of SSD's. I can give you my suggestions based on your answers.

I actually have some SSD's that I am going to secure wipe and load the latest FW on them and sale them. I am not using them so I might as well sale them.

Yea the OCZ does have bad reviews, but i think that was for the vertex not the agility model. The new firmware is supposed to fix all the issues as well.

I would say 60GB is minimum as windows 7 takes up about 12 gigs or so. Page file and such takes more. I just got 120GB to not deal with space issues. If i do need more space i have a slim 250gb.

Just got everything and am using it. Blazing speed and way better screen.
