My side usb port has gone out on my cf 30. Initially it was flakey, so i took it out and resoldered the connections, after that the side totally failed while the 2 rear still work.
I just took it out again and resoldered it again, same issue. I guess i need to replace the entire adapter. I was wondering though if somebody has fixed it without replacing it?

Might have to be replaced. Did you burn up something re-soldering it?

I have this part! The board has ALL THREE USB connections on one L shaped board... I don't know how in Gods name the rear two would work and the side wouldn't unless something is DIRECTLY damaged on only the side USB port.
I have this board. Name a fair deal price and it's yours. Pic attached too!

Simple boards like this with user-sockets often fail with broken joints.
Check connection pins first obviously, then accessible solder joints. It can be quicker just to reflow them all with the iron than to check them individually but then you can miss the odd broken track right next to the solder.
Delamination and broken through-board connections happen less frequently but can be impossible to fix.
Based only on the photo I'd guess the single usb might be a bit far from the screw positions for them to give good support to a frequently-used socket?
But I am getting old & feeble-minded...
Good luck with it! -
Where do we stand here?
I have this part set aside for you.
Thanks
