Looks good...

Thanks.
I have many hours in designing//tweaking the templates. Then finding a decent vinyl to use.
Fabbing these stickers is the main reason I got the cutting machine.
I may try to make a 2 color lid badge next. Or even just a reverse of the standard one. Right now I will bask in the glory of success.... -

that almost looks "vacu-formed" .
the "'31 rear door ..." jpg is not making the trip . -
Try right click and view image.
The board has random issues with images..I have reported the issue. -
suuuurrre ... now it shows with no problem ...
now the other pictures have problems ... -
Sometimes a page refresh cures the issue.

if it were only that easy with my past relationships ... :/

and that is the heavy vinyl with the super-suds adhesive ?
not that *off the shelf" stuff one can buy at ACE hardware . -
Correct it is heavy duty vinyl and super duper adhesive.

Lots of cool ideas! I have a box full of Hickory laminate I was thinking of having a friend Laser engrave to replace the badge. You got me thinking about removing a palm rest and redoing the back... Hmmm...
Ever thought of using radioactive Glow-in-the-dark paint? -
I tried the glow in the dark paint. It did not perform very well. It seems to require a very white base coat in order to work properly.
The glow paint does not work over any colors especially dark colors.
Maybe some industrial//commercial grade glow paint would function better. -

Looks good! What do you use to cut them out with? Is it like one of those Cricut pattern cutting machines?
-
Thank You
Yes, it is a plotter (cutter). USB connection and it works like a printer.
The real work is getting the templates properly set up and finding good quality raw material. -
-
hard to get the right exposure ?
looks good ...
did you over paint the lettering on the badge or is that an optical contusion ? -
I was LAZY....I used the cell phone instead of a real camera.
I gave the badge a coating of gold glitter paint over the standard silver. Then I clear coated it all.ADOR likes this. -
Bumping this as a newcomer could not find it..

Just got a compliment on my Yellow/green CF31. Was eating at McD's and a 11-12 year old boy noticed it and told his dad."Look at that really cool laptop"
Pretty darn cool indeed...It made me smile. -

We need a bar code printer. I used one once upon a time to temporarily label fire service hand held radios on loan at a fire.

Shawn, this CF-31JCG802M You just sent me would be the perfect beast to try some mods on, thank you very much. I'm afraid to take her apart though as everything is working and she's 596,000 hours old. I got her working on a boot-able usb persistent drive after following the directions here to get the mouse pad to work:

Maybe this should become my only windows unit?
Thanks again. -
I am happy that you are happy.

No typo...The BIOS shows 596,230 hours
Cleve,
Can you post a photo of the main BIOS page. -
That's only 68 years, I can't see a problem with that.
-
Hey, it's not that much younger than me. I'll see if I can swing a picture
-
Here's screenshot of the bios page with hours...

590K hours, Thats Awesome!
My Garmin has a screen that shos accumulated miles, time moving, Etc... Sometimes it will go from a few hundred miles to 20, 30 or 40K miles for some odd reason. -
Created a new splash screen. Need to flash it into the bios

Crud.
I got this CF19mk6 motherboard all ready to go. I just received the antenna adapters to install the Azurewave CB160 802.11ac 3 antenna wifi card. I changed the boot splash to my custom one.
I was figuring maybe this weekend I would swap out the mk4 motherboard in my custom orange CF19mk3 housing.
Need to swap the LCD bezel to retain the light sensor of the mk6.
Had a seemingly unrelated issue with a CF31 mk2 Versapad. I just spent 2 1/2 hours researching the Versapad problem. So all of a sudden it dawns on me. The CF19mk6 uses a Versapad also.
If I put the mk6 motherboard into the mk3 housing, the touchpad will operate upside down and backwards.
Crud, Did I already say Crud? This deserves a repeat.
So it looks like I will be refinishing a CF19 mk6 housing before i put the mk6 into service.

Swapped a factory webcam into the 31 Construction site edition.
Have not tried it yet.UNCNDL1 likes this. -
Shawn,
What are you using to flash the BIOS? I used to always want to put one of my logos in... But never did... -
depends on the mk
CF31 mk3 and later needs the chip removed and a programmer.
For earlier mks, AMI makes a program called CHANGELOGO and then either AFUDOS or AFUWINGUI.UNCNDL1 likes this. -
