Hi, I am selling my CF-52 because its really big but I loved the toughbook design and features so the 74its the logical choice but I dont want to pay 3k dollars to get a Core 2 Duo laptop (very apple like) so I was wondering if any of you guys know if the 74 will get upgraded. I've seen the 52, 31 and 19 upgraded to core processors but the 74 seems to be the exception.

The only things I don't like from my 52 is the lack of a trackpoint (Thinkpadder here so I miss it a lot) and a WLED screen (possibly RGBLED for the 52 upgrade).
I sincerely hope the 52 wont get the same treatment screenwise ase the new lets note b10 (15.6" 16:9).

    I just check the manual and the CF-74J/K (mk4) is a Intel ® Core™2 Duo Processor P8600 (2.4 GHz, 3 MB *1 L2 cache, 1066 MHz FSB)

The CF-74 has been phased out. The Mk4 was the last upgrade.

It's a shame as I was looking forward to buy one with some upgrades (LED screen, sandybridge). US Panasonic site still has them. Maybe the 74 wasn't selling very well as most panasonic buyers were shelling for the 30 but I think the Cf-30 its a little too much for business meetings and such (maybe a bit informal too). I'll try to find one cheap (like my 52). What do you guys think? Anyone here could share their experience with the 74 (noise, temperatures, screen, etc). Or maybe I'll wait forever until panasonic releases a toughbook with a trackpoint (Only reason I like the Latitude ATg and XFR).
