    Well, here I am again.

The other day I picked up a CF-18DHAZXKW from a local auction for $185 Canadian. I was pretty thrilled.

I spent the next day trying to install Windows on it sans optical drive. A fun thing.

Finally getting it working, I went to the Panasonic Canada website to grab drivers. Finding that the "W" in the model isn't supposed to exist, I found that there was no drivers for my exact machine. Then finding the closest machine, the CF-18DHAZXKM, I downloaded those drivers, and the computer refused to use them.

Any suggestions? I've never had this much trouble getting a machine up and running.

Do you mean that they don't unextract and the driver installer says wrong model?

Exactly, the exact message is "This machine does NOT support."

I will copy all the drivers off of my cf-18 mk-2 touchscreen and put them on a disk for you
The drivers unextract fine on my mk-2, so all you have to do is have them placed on C:util2 C:util_d080215 and C:intelinf and either run the install program ,or go into device manager and point the problem devices to the right folder

    Hey Ohlip!

This auction was out in Abbotsford, it was the annual police auction. There was a CF-28 800 there too, complete with HD Caddy and Battery, went for $75!

I just found a driver for a Sierra Modem in the machine. Something that this Config isn't supposed to have. It's a Telus modem? Threw me for a loop.

I've missed that, while I am always looking an auction like that here in vancouver area.

BTW, as Alex said you can extract the driver by using extracting software and then install it manually. I used winrar when the machine refuse to extract a certain driver and put on a folder.

Note: Jos..If you have any info regarding the auction like that can you PM me asap. Thanks

For sure Ohlip, the big CF-28 auction for my area was last year but if anything turns up, I'll give info to anyone around the lower mainland who asks for it if I find anything.

You can see a couple of dents on the bottom, the rubber power cover is missing along with the PCMCIA door. Is heartland the best place to get those?

with regards to PCMCIA cover, from time to time it come up on ebay cheaper than to purchase in heart....d and they will charged you arm and leg on shipping plus brokerage fee.

Looks really nice. Great price. I am going to pick one up for my girlfriend. She can use that and I can use the Cf-29.
