Hi all, I just purchased a CF-18 that did not come with an ac adapter, does anyone know if the ac adapter form a CF-29 will work on it?

Long answer? I can't get mine to work with my CF-18

If your CF-29 charger works with the CF-29 it should be good and should charge your CF-18. You say you "just purchased" the 18, have you ever seen it charge? Get back to your seller, bad socket, blown fuse? Will the 18 run off the adapter?

I use the chargers from my Toughbooks without ever thinking about it.
As long as the connector is the same they all seem to work in all models for me.
The one for the 18 will not charge as fast as a bigger one but it should work.

I have not seen it turn on, it does not have a battery, I purchased the proper cf-18 ac adapter so hopefully that will work, does anyone have a pic of where the fuse is so I could check it, is it simple to change or a pain in the you know what?

Sorry to be the one to tell you this, but the proper adapter for the CF-18 is the same as the proper adapter for the CF-29.
So, Ohlip is the fusemeister around here, he might happen by, but a post something like "help I can't find the !@##$%^&&ing fuse" might bait him in.
You also need to take a good look at the socket. It is the exact same one as on your CF-29 so it should look exactly the same. Poke around gently to see if any thing is cracked, broken, loose, or missing. I'm not sure just now how complicated the replacements is, but if you are mildly competent and careful it shouldn't be that tough a job. A good search might turn up a thread on power socket replacement, but if you search around here you will find some pictures of a machine opened up. Good luck,

Ok I guess I will just have to get it replaced through the guy I bought it from because it was advertised that it was tested to bios, I thought maybe becausea the cf-18's power requirements was 16v at 2.5 amps, instead of the cf-29's 15.6v 5 amps.
