You removed the ram that you added and it will not boot?
Take the battery out and disconect the ac adapter for a bit
Try getting into bios which is F2 while booting and if you can set bios defaults

If you want to try the next step
Remove the base and find the bios battery and remove it then for a while
Thats just about as far as you can go

Yes, replacement of the complete base or motherboard from a parts unit would be aprox $200

Thats great that its up and running
I thought that you may have scambled up the bios
The cf18's that take ddr2 are the mk4 or mk5 latest models , all the early models used ddr1
    Is your cf-18 a B model 900mhz mk-1?

    FYI

    DDR SODIMM 200pin PC2100 266MHz

    or

    DDR SODIMM 200pin PC2700 333MHz

Is the correct ram for your mk-1 model

ok, so getting the touch screen is as simple as device manager, mouse, update driver, browse, "wherever u put the mouse driver", ok,

it updates the mouse to a touchpad/touchscreen, and boom, restart and touch galore!

its all good for the restore disk, i just used home edition, works just fine,

thanks for all the help, i will pass on the knowledge about getting the ts to work so others dont pull hairs out!
    hahah

    thanks again,
    Eric.
