    Hello All,

    Just invested in my second CF-18, cheep eBay purchase (spares or repair) due dim screen and boot failure.
    As soon as it arrived I pulled the HDD and found it was a gonner, so installed 80GB drive with Windows 7 pre-installed (Thanks to RCX for the install posting :D ).
    Booted TB no problem but no backlight on LCD.
    Found the fault within minutes of pulling the lid..! CCFL insulation boot had perished and the unit had been arching to the surrounding area and that end if the wiring loom is burned to hell and back.
    So.... the CCFL is gone (is now... just broke the damn end off with my monkey fingers :eek: ) and the inverter has probably gone kaput also..
    Wondering if any of you good people know where, in the UK, I can find a supplier of the following;

    CCFL - Panasonic P/N: - A2CA00000056
    Inverter - Panasonic P/N: - D2145-B001-P1-0

    I've looked on Digi-Key for a CCFL alternative but I'm unsure which would be a good substitute - I could make up a new loom re-utilising the old plug for the inverter. Unsure how to acquire new insulation boots, I could bodge with silicon (have made "In field" repairs in the past that have lasted a lifetime in this manor), but I'd prefer a "Professional" finish..!

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.. :)
